Vann was hired as the head coach at Woodville for the 2020 season, taking the Panthers to the Class 1A playoffs, finishing with a record of 5-6 and tying the school record for most wins in a single season.  Following the 2020 season, Sylvania came calling and Vann was hired to lead the Rams program.  In three years at Sylvania, his teams went 8-3, 10-4, and 10-3, reaching post-season in all three years.  His 2023 squad claimed the Region Championship, their fifth in school history.  With a career mark of 33-16, Vann's teams have posted a combined region record of 21-5 and his offenses have consistently excelled, averaging 31.7 points per game overall and 34.9 points per game in crucial region matchups.
